  • About you

Are you looking to start a career in the marketing industry? Are you from a tougher background or had things happen to you that have held you back so far? Are you hardworking, ambitious and entrepreneurial? Bright – but not necessarily academic?

We would love to hear from you, drop us an email if you would like to know more using the link below.

  • How we support you

We secure paid, year-long marketing apprenticeships at leading companies for talented and ambitious young people who just need a ‘leg up’ to get going.

We provide end-to-end support and coaching using a person centred approach to ensure you get the best possible start.

  • Development

You’ll be super-equipped at the end of your year. You can gain a recognised qualification e.g programmes run by The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and Institute of the Data & Marketing Association (DMA) who we thank for their generous support.

Our own monthly training brings our apprentices together and covers marketing and personal development.

We secure 12-month paid marketing roles within different marketing functions with power brands and companies including Amazon, William Grant, Hotel Chocolat, Giff Gaff, Quilter, and Arcadis to name a few.

“When my boss called me into the room and said, ‘we’re offering you a permanent job here’ I thought, no way. I still can’t quite believe it. I always think of myself as shy and not very confident. But the apprenticeship with The Marketing Academy Foundation and Karmarama has made a world of difference to me. It’s shown me I can be part of the creative world, which I never thought possible.”

Thiara - Apprentice at Karmarama, 2019/20 Taken on as a fulltime employee.

“When I first came into contact with The Marketing Academy Foundation I had been unemployed for two years after leaving university and was emotionally drained and discouraged from applying for jobs. But through the amazing CV advice and invaluable interview training, I’ve had from the foundation as well as the genuine friendly care and dedication I’ve experienced from all the staff, I have gone from unemployed to an apprentice, to a full-time employee at a top 2 global tech company. My confidence has increased, my skills have been sharpened on both a corporate and personal level and I know I will forever have a powerful support system behind me that I am immensely grateful for!"

Anike S - Social Media Apprentice at Amazon, 2021/22. Taken on as a full-time employee.

“This year has, without a doubt, been an incredible transformation that's still amazing to comprehend comparing to this time last year. Honestly, life changing. Having done so many cool things that were unimaginable to me not along ago, the most important highlight this year is the privilege I have to be surrounded by such brilliant people who have and continue to inspire me in so many ways, not only professionally but also personally. “

Zulqi - Apprentice at William Grant, 2021/22. Taken on as a full-time employee.

"My time with The Marketing Foundation has been great. I’ve had support in how to be an asset within the workplace, but I have also learned the necessary skills to be impactful in a big company. As long as I take with me the lessons I’ve learned throughout my time with TMA, I feel I will be a success."

— Joshua Teya, Apprentice at TSB

FAQs

  • It depends. The job offer may be a permanent contract, in which case, yes, as long as you perform to expectations, like any job. Some companies offer this as a year’s contract, and although most companies will want to keep you on at the end of the Apprenticeship, they don’t guarantee it because there would need to be another suitable vacancy for you when the year is up. So many things can change in the course of the year. But we will work with you to apply for roles in the company where you served your appretniceship if they exist and you like the look of them or coach your job applications for roles in other great companies.

  • You will mostly be learning by doing the job and your manager will be teaching you the skills to do it, and develop them over the year. They will also have regular 1 on 1 meetings with you to keep you on track and help you develop. You will also have the opportunity to study for a recognised qualification if you want to and we will work with you and your manager to find the most relevant and appealing one. You will be given time within your working week to study. In addition we organise 10 half day’s of training for you and our other apprentices form other companies, covering Marketing Theory, Marketing practise and Personal development sessions.

  • Most of our roles are now what we call hybrid. So, the company will expect you to go into the office for 2 or 3 days every week, and work from home the rest of the time. We encourage our apprentices to go into the office, as we think you learn more that way, as well as it being a bit more sociable and fun.

  • Mostly, yes. We stay in touch with all our graduating apprentices, and about 90% of them find a job in marketing, after their year as an apprentice. The few that don’t mostly decided that marketing wasn’t quite for them, but use the experience anyway to help them get a role in the area they now favour.
